Configure the Prompt

Learn how to customize your agent's behavior through the prompt

The system prompt is the heart of your agent. It defines who it is, how it talks, and what it can do.

Access Prompt Settings

  1. Go to the Agents section
  2. Select the agent to configure
  3. Go to Settings > General tab
  4. Find the Business Prompt section

Automatic Generation

When you create an agent, the prompt is automatically generated by AI based on:

  • Company name and description
  • Selected primary language
  • Configured response length

You can always modify it manually or use the AI assistant.

Prompt Structure

A good prompt includes:

Identity

  • Virtual assistant name
  • Company affiliation
  • Role and scope of expertise

Tone and Style

  • Level of formality (professional, friendly, formal)
  • Type of language (simple, technical, conversational)
  • What to avoid (jargon, complex terms)

Knowledge

  • Products and services offered
  • Business hours and contacts
  • FAQs and common information

Limits

  • Topics not to discuss
  • When to suggest human contact
  • Information not to provide without confirmation

Edit with AI (Prompt AI Chat)

Leader24 offers an AI assistant to help you write effective prompts:

  1. Click Edit with AI in the Business Prompt section
  2. Describe what you want the agent to do
  3. The AI generates optimized prompt versions
  4. Navigate between generated variants
  5. Select the best one and save

The assistant maintains the current agent's context and allows you to iterate quickly.

Character Limits

  • Business Prompt: max 5000 characters
  • Lead Definition: max 2000 characters

Best Practices

  • Be specific in the instructions
  • Include examples of ideal responses
  • Clearly define the limits
  • Test the prompt with real questions
  • Iterate based on results
